Trauma

My passion is to help individuals who have experienced trauma find their path toward healing and create a life of meaning.

Trauma Has Many Forms

Yes, trauma is being talked about in many circles. We continue to learn what trauma is and how it shows up in one's daily life. That "oh my god, what is happening to me!" experience that overwhelms your nervous system and renders you helpless, afraid, confused, or combative is trauma.

And, trauma comes in many shapes and sizes. It includes yet is not limited to poverty, oppression, racism, emotional and psychological neglect, abandonment, living in fear and beyond.

Why work with me?

  • I am a clinical psychologist who has studied, trained, and developed skills to help others,
  • an adult survivor and thriver of childhood trauma,
  • an individual who has engaged in their own deep therapeutic process - I have a felt sense of how difficult trauma work is,
  • a life long learner of the impact of trauma and relentless seeker of healing options,
  • a mother of four, hence I have insight into the potential impact unprocessed trauma has on one’s own children,
  • a human being with a profound respect for what it takes to do this work and to heal

My Approach

Each individual's traumatic experience is unique to the individual. I am genuinely interested in your personal story, your felt experience, and how your experience lives in your thoughts, feelings, and actions. I tailor and adapt my approach to the individual and throughout the therapeutic process.
